GoKarao ("we," "our," or "us") operates the GoKarao website (gokarao.com) and the GoKarao mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our services.

Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored securely as a hash). When you use our karaoke service, we process audio files you upload to separate vocals and generate karaoke tracks. We also collect basic usage data such as the number of songs processed.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve our karaoke services, process your audio files for vocal separation and lyrics generation, manage your account, communicate with you about your account or our services, and ensure the security of our platform.

Audio File Processing & Third-Party AI Services

To produce karaoke tracks GoKarao uses third-party AI services. Specifically:

What is sent: the audio file you upload (e.g. an MP3 you choose from your device). No name, email, password, payment details, contacts, photos, location, or device identifiers are sent to the AI service.
Who it is sent to: fal.ai (Features and Labels Inc., operator of fal.ai) — used to perform AI vocal/instrument separation. fal.ai's privacy policy is available at https://fal.ai/privacy.
How long it is kept by the AI service: only as long as needed to perform the separation. fal.ai does not use your audio to train its models. We do not authorise any other use of your audio.
Your consent: the GoKarao app asks for your permission inside the app the first time you upload an audio file, before any audio is sent to the AI service. If you decline, no audio is sent and your file is not processed.
Equal protection: fal.ai is contractually required to provide protection for your data that is at least equal to the protections described in this Privacy Policy. fal.ai does not sell your data, does not share it with advertisers, and does not retain it beyond what is needed to fulfil the processing request.

We do not permanently store your uploaded audio files on our servers. Processed stems (karaoke tracks, vocals, etc.) are stored temporarily and linked to your account for playback and download. You can delete them at any time from the dashboard, or delete your entire account from the “Delete Account” button in the navigation.

Payment Information

Payments are processed through third-party payment providers (PayPal, Razorpay). We do not store your credit card numbers, bank account details, or other financial information on our servers. Payment providers handle all financial data according to their own privacy policies.

Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser session cookies to keep you signed in and local storage to save your preferences and usage history. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share data with third-party service providers (such as AI processing services and payment processors) only as necessary to provide our services. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure password hashing, and server-side access controls to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

Your Rights

You can access, update, or delete your account information at any time through your dashboard. To request complete deletion of your data, contact us at admin@gokarao.com.
